Simple booking, good talking both by phone and email. Quick answers to qustions. And a nice price for our trip!

Most parts of the trip were fine.

Most parts of the trip were fine. The hotels were all pretty good. All the flights and train rides went smooth. Still, there were a few issues. The itinerary had some mistakes, which made things confusing and caused a bit of worry. They gave the wrong phone number for the drivers and tour groups, and didn’t fix it fast when we told them. Because of that, we had some trouble with hotel pick-ups since the drivers couldn’t call us, and one tour guide couldn’t get in touch either. Portugal getaways gave us some money back for extra costs we had from that. They also let us book a tour in Algarve that we couldn’t make in time. Our train got in late (which happens often there) and the tour place was an hour by taxi, so we missed it. Portugal Getaways didn’t take blame and didn’t give back the money. Since they are the Portugal speicalists, I don’t think they should have listed that tour.

The entire trip from the flight to the car rental

The entire trip from the flight to the car rental and hotel choices was very well done. It gave us the freedom to plan our stops and spend as much time as we wanted at each place. It was our first time in Portugal and it helped us discover new places and figure out where we'd like to return next time and where we wouldn't. The only downside was the Ramada hotel in Lusbon, which was in a not-so-great area of town. It felt a bit sketchy, and I wouldn't stay there again.

Portugal Getaways is really great. Finding trips and choosing options was simple, and I could change dates easily. Everything they provided was really good. The rental car was just right, and the staff were really nice. The hotels were all great - good location, nice facilities, and comfortable. Our flights were smooth too. I would definitely book with Portugal Getaways again in the future!

Enjoyable Trip with Scheduling Hiccups

Our trip was enjoyable and offered great value, but the company's flight schedule from Lisbon to Madeira and back to Porto posed a challenge. Originally planning for two days in Porto, the scheduling issues left us with less than 24 hours. Despite this hiccup, the overall experience was positive, highlighting the need for improved flight planning for a more fulfilling itinerary.

We felt that we were in good hands with this company....they confirmed everything right away and were very upfront about their prices.....there were no hidden fees. Also, they were very responsive to our constant requests for changes prior to the final booking.....we really enjoyed the final package they put together for us.

The island of Madeira is amazing

The island of Madeira is amazing: lovely, tidy, secure, welcoming. Stylish, unique Se Boutique Hotel located in the heart of Funchal is awesome. The non-stop flight from Toronto makes the trip super easy but the airline Azores Airways is a disater to stay away from!

When I tried to change my

When I tried to change my booking dates right after I made the reservation, I had to pay $800 extra, which was unexpected. It's just one of those things, I suppose. The flight itself wasn't too comfortable despite opting for the more spacious seating. It felt cramped and hot. The layovers between flights felt incredibly long, especially when there are direct flights to Faro, Portugal. Once I finally reached the resort, everything went smoothly, and the accommodation was fantastic.

While the company responded promptly to our pre-booking inquiries, we were disappointed when denied a straightforward breakdown of costs. Requesting a room with two queen beds resulted in an unpleasant surprise – our grandchildren on a pullout couch, billed as adults. The inconsistency of charging for children under 12, despite the hotel's policy of free stays for them, left us dissatisfied with the overall experience.

I would have rated you 5 stars, but you entered incorrect dates of birth on our travel documents. We discovered this by chance while contacting the airline for a different issue. The airline warned us that with the wrong dates, we might have been refused boarding. Thankfully, it was fixed easily, but it could have spoiled our entire trip.
