Tho app ain't the best
Tho app ain't the best, but MealPal's customer service is great! Didn't know I'd be charged right away after my free meal. Called 'em for a refund, they canceled my account and gave me my money back! They were real nice and understood.

Befor MealPal, I spnt $12-$18
Befor MealPal, I spnt $12-$18 on lunch evry day in SF. Aftr switchin to MealPal in Septembr 2018, I've savd ovr $1000 on lunch. The options r usually grt n rang frm healthy salads (which I try to eat) to more hearty things. My only two qualms r 1) portion size varies hugely by restaurant (n it's hard to judge based on a picture), which they've tried to combat by adding more transparency to the menu 2) UI/UX could definitely use improvement especially on the desktop version.

MealPal iz a 5 star idea an' service. But, I took off 1 star only coz da new credits system iz less favorable dan da old system. It requires some juggling of da numbers to make sure dere are enough credits to last da whole cycle, whereas it was a no-brainer before. Perhaps consider switching back?

This company MealPal is a total scam!
This company MealPal is a total scam! I joined on March 21, 2024, and they charged me $2.17 right away for membership. But guess what? I never even ordered anything from them. And now, my bank statement shows a charge of $71.86 labeled as "ATM Debit MealPal." I had to call my bank to dispute it. I won't be using their service ever again.

Wasn't aware I couldn't sign up for targeted deal if I had another account. They charged me full and wouldn't refund promo amount. Had to dispute thru my card to get promo back.

1. Double-check the rollover credit rules. Important: Credits are lost if you cancel your account. This means you will have leftover unused credits that are wasted (unless you can perfectly match your meal choices to use up all credits) 2. The app is often buggy and constantly pushes you to make extra purchases 3. 70 credits are promoted to cover 10 meals. This seems overstated: it’s more like 7 meals if you want meals of proper size Overall, I don’t see any real savings given the issues with credit rollover. Might be better to buy straight from the merchants using a credit card…
