IFG and Dalton were really good. They communicated well, had a good rate, quick funding, and quick approval. Even the private seller I bought from liked them. I'd use them again for any loan.

Misleading - bad business practices

Hunter gave me an interest rate and term based on the price of my boat / he asked to move forward and pull my credit. my credit is over 800 and my debt to income is about 10% so that would have only helped me. But he comes back with a much higher interest rate and $1240 in fees that he tacked on. When I asked him what happened he started to explain that he thought the loan was based off a different amount (but knew because he put in an email) and the first number was just an estimate. I am taking the time to write a review because I wish I had known about the bad business practices that boatloan.com does (at least hunter) - and I don’t want anyone else to waste their time.

Securing online approval was ez

Securing online approval was ez, but the experience nosedived afterward. Initially, Cliff and Jr. seemed fine, but their communication took a nosedive into silence. Multiple calls from different numbers were necessary to elicit any response. Closing a boat loan stretched over a frustrating 2.5 months with no process explanation or deadlines shared—only empty promises. Three days before the deadline, they casually mentioned being occupied with other closings. Overall, the experience proved entirely ineffective and lacking transparency.

Scam

Stay away from this firm. I filled out the online app. My info is now in limbo. No confirmation of app receipt, no return messages, and their phone number goes to a non-descript voicemail box that can't accept messages. This is a scam. I've reported them to the state e-commerce department. If you're a prime consumer, use more traditional options.
