Hotel des Indes: a beautiful old 19th-century hotel
Hotel des Indes: a beautiful old 19th-century hotel with lovely details and an interesting history (the photos inside make it even more special). The staff is very nice and happy to help with special requests. (tip: try the cranberry juice at breakfast and ask for a Haagsch Hopje – if they still have some :-)). The 'Health Club & Spa' has a clean gym with changing rooms and shower’s, and someone is there to help you with the machines. The pool is small but pleasant with a good temperature (no jetstreams, even though they were mentioned). One small issue: we tried calling the ‘Health Club & Spa’ from the room at 0630 and 0645AM but couldn't get through. Going to the front desk worked. That’s a bit tricky since it only opens at 0700AM. Hotel des Indes is in the center of The Hague, so everything you want to see is close by or even in view from the hotel. We watched a movie at "Filmhuis Den Haag", saw some art at "Lange Voorhout", climbed the tower near the Binnenhof, and visited "De Gevangenpoort" – all in one morning. All in all: a memrable stay!
