I am really pleased with my Maine coon, though the experience became a bit difficult towards the end. I decided to check out purebredkitties because the shelters nearby were hard to contact, and I’ve always wanted a Maine coon. I quickly fell for a kitten and submitted the application. The whole process of applying and following up was simple, and Kim was very helpful in guiding me through reserving my kitten. I received weekly updates with videos of her, and Kim answered all my questions as they came up.
Things got complicated when it was time for my cat to come home. I got a text saying there was a flight available for her on 04/01/2025, asking me which airport I preferred, and telling me where to pick her up. On the morning of 04/01/2025, I got another text saying a flight was available. This confused me because we had already talked about her flight the week before. I called Kim, and she explained that the person who texted me had never scheduled the flight. Kim had noticed this mistake, so she sent me another text about the flight. I was upset because I had taken the day off from work, as the airport is more than an hour away from me, and now I wasn’t going to get my cat that day. I also had to cancel a vet appointment I made. Kim arranged for the flight the next day while we were on the phone, and she promised to keep me updated. She sent me some paperwork, but I ended up going back to work without looking at it right away.
When I finally checked the paperwork, I was unsure of what I needed to fill out and whether I needed to bring anything to the airport. I tried reaching out to Kim through email, text, and calls, but I couldn’t reach her since she had already clocked out. The next day, I contacted the call center again, but they told me Kim wasn’t available since she doesn't work on Wednesdays. I felt frustrated because I didn’t know if the forms were important for picking up my cat, and no one could help me. Finally, I heard from Kim around 12:30, just a few hours before my cat was supposed to land, and she confirmed I didn’t need to worry about the paperwork.
I’m very happy with the cat I got from Purebredkitties. She’s affectionate and playful, and she’s settled into her new home well. The vet checkups have been fine so far, and I hope the next one goes just as well. Most of the experience was smooth and easy, and the issue with the flight was resolved in just 24 hours. Now that I know how the process works, I will definitely choose Purebredkitties again for my next Maine coon.
