When my son’s drone crashed and we found out his extended warranty had expired unknowingly 3 months ago I felt awful! I found Drone Nerds online and was a bit scared to send such an expensive item across the country wondering if they were real and if they could actually fix it. We knew the arm, gimbal, and maybe more were broken. Right away I got the most professional, clear and detailed email from Yamel. I was surprised how they sent pictures of every part of my son’s drone, including all serial numbers, different angles, damage, case, etc. Yamel kept explaining the damage, listing costs for each repair, and offering the choice to skip any repair and just get it back for the $69 diagnostic. I said yes to all repairs. A few days later, Yamel updated me that despite the repairs, the drone failed several tests showing the motherboard might be bad. So amazing they test that deep before sending it back!! He said DJI does not sell motherboards after market but would contact DJI to send it for more checks and repair. I worried it would get very expensive since Drone Nerds already spent time, parts, and testing on the drone. I was shocked when Yamel said since they couldn’t fix it fully, they would wave all fees except the diagnostic and then I could decide if I wanted DJI to fix it after their quote. I asked Yamel what he thought and he said to get DJI involved because sometimes they replace the whole drone cheaper with a brand new one. Their cost only applies if I say yes after DJI’s test. Drone Nerds handled EVERYTHING and worked with DJI!! Yamel kept updating me as things moved. Later Yamel told me DJI confirmed the motherboard was bad. Amazingly, the cost to replace the board plus Drone Nerds diagnostic was less than half what I planned to pay them for the other repairs which shocked me!! Drone Nerds spent lots of time diagnosing, fixing parts, testing, retesting, diagnosing again, then sending to DJI, talking to me and managing it all!! Two days ago Yamel said good news that DJI sent a new drone to them and they waited for my case, controller, and accessories to send it all back to me! Today Yamel told me it shipped. The total cost was still half what I agreed to pay first for the broken parts—Drone Nerds only charged $69 since they missed the board problem first. How they tested the motherboard with so many broken parts I will never understand. Overall, the customer service from Drone Nerds is simply rare!! I am so grateful and blown away! I feel like I owe them more than what they charged and I can’t recomend them enough!! Thanks Yamel and all who helped!! My son has muscular dystrophy and his drone brings him into the world in ways hard to describe. Your amazing service and support to DJI means SO MUCH more than you charged and I will tell everyone to trust you with their needs!!
