I wish I had known about SocialSelf earlier in life.
I wish I had known about SocialSelf earlier in life. Growing up after high school, I had a hard time connecting with others and making friends. I often felt lost in conversations, not knowing what to say, worried about saying the wrong thing, and struggled with loneliness, anxiety, and stress. I thought I could handle it, but as I got older, it only seemed to get harder. I really wanted to know how to talk to people and improve my social life, but I wasn’t sure where to turn. Then my mom found this site, and it ended up helping me. When I first discovered SocialSelf, I checked out their free programs and articles. There was a lot of useful info, some of which I already knew, but there were also things I had never considered. I took a free quiz to see where I stood, and soon after, I got an email from David, the founder. He sent me helpful tips and shared useful advice about socializing. I was later offered a program that I didn’t know about. Honestly, I was hesitant at first, but I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. The first program I tried was "Awkward to Awesomeness." These step-by-step videos, created by David, his friend Victor, and the team, taught me how to talk with others, listen, and manage group conversations. One of the most helpful was "Self-Conscious to Self-Confidence." All the programs have been useful. Though I can't share everything here, I can say the course really changed my life. For example, when I reconnected with an old friend, I used to struggle with starting and keeping the conversation going. I would often freeze up, give short answers, and end things too quickly. After practicing with this course, I became much better at it, and my friend and I have grown much closer. It’s important to know that progress won’t happen overnight. Depending on where you are in your journey and your personal challenges, some things might come easier than others. It took me some time, especially being on the Autism Spectrum, but I could already see improvements. If you put in the time and effort, you’ll see results. The SocialSelf team is amazing! (Special thanks to Molly & Matthew!) They’re very friendly and supportive. The staff genuinely wants to help people with their social lives, because they’ve faced similar struggles themselves. I used to think there was no one who could help me, and it was starting to affect my health. But since joining SocialSelf, I feel much happier and more confident. There are still areas I’m working on, but I’ve come a long way. I definitely recommend giving it a try. Start with the free programs to see how they work for you. If they help, you can try the full courses. And if something isn’t right for you, you can switch programs, get a refund within 60 days, or contact the team for support. I really don’t know where I’d be without SocialSelf, but finding it has been a real blessing. Thank you, David, Victor, and the whole SocialSelf team for making this possible!
