I wasn’t eager to call and arrange Life Alert for my dad, thinking it would be a big hassle. But my real experience with Life Alert was the complete opposite. Pretty good experience

I recently dealt with their customer service, and I've got to say, the contact person was amazing - knew their stuff, super helpful and polite. The operators I spoke with were professional and seemed really focused on their jobs. Now, my mom has some hearing issues and the sound quality of the devices was a bit of a problem. She said the small speakers sounded kinda tinny and it was hard for her to make out the words. It’s a bit frustrating because everything else was top-notch. Wish they could improve the sound quality for folks like my mom. Other than that, a pretty good experience.

I called to check on

I called to check on a pendant for my mom, who’s hard of hearing, and things went a bit off track. The dispatcher couldn’t hear me, and the pendant wasn’t clear. When I called back, Melissa said the previous test was fine but passed me to service. My mom speaks very softly, so I’m worried dispatchers won’t hear her in an emergency. My sister also tried to activate the system and ended up on hold for more than 15 minutes. It’s concerning because timely help is crucial for my mom. I'm hoping they can fix these issues quickly.

When I signed up for

When I signed up for Life Alert, my husband was very ill. After he passed away, I found myself stuck in a 3-year contract I didn’t even realize I had committed to. Now, I'm struggling to get out of it. The service is really expensive and if anything breaks, like my personal necklace response piece, they charge $75 for a replacement. I ended up taping it together instead. It feels like everything is just more difficult with them. I'm so frustrated with this company (and mad at myself for not doing more research). The only positive thing is they took $10 off my monthly bill, making it $88/month. Honestly, look for another company.
