We've been using Cvent since 2013. It's been really helpful for managing events. The support team is great and it's pretty simple to set up events now. We also link Cvent to Salesforce to transfer registration info for Tableau reports. Cvent keeps enhancing its product, which is good.

I was contacted via LinkedIn DM for a demo call to show their events software, which seemed like a great fit for my work. I was curious and interested. The initial call didn’t provide much information. It felt like I had to prove I was worth their time. They wanted to know all about me and my company, but didn’t share much in return. I was promised an Amazon voucher for attending the call, but only after speaking to the director. This was in mid-December. Since then, the director has rescheduled the call five times. Whenever I asked about the delays, the director mentioned 'family emergencies.' After reading other reviews, it looks like the director is always in an emergency and never answers a call!! Seems like a data mining scheme. AVOID.

CVENT isn't too user friendly and takes a lot of time. The initial sales packages were confusing and needed lots of discussion. The outcome is okay but you'll need to invest tons of time. The sales pitch makes it seem like you'll have all the help you need, but this isn't always true. While they schedule meetings and you can make lists of issues, the whole application is complex and needs many meetings, video tutorials, and trial and error. If you're paying Cvent to do the project for you, then it's a good end result. Otherwise, expect to spend 80+ hours setting it up and fixing all the glitches.

The seller's comment during the meeting, "We'll see if we cooperate," was ridiculous. We’re the ones trying to buy a service, not the other way around. It feels like something isn’t right here. They don't give a straight price but talk about different licenses costing this or that. They pile on extra licenses, and in the end, you end up paying way more than expected. There's no simple breakdown of what you’re actually getting.
