Let me start with how I did my move and who I reached out to. I asked a few friends for names of movers... they told me to check out Flat Rate, Sarmiento Moving, City Express, Rabbit Movers and A Moveable Feat. This was for a 1 bedroom (2nd floor walk up) in Williamsburg to Astoria (1 bedroom, had elevator). I had around 18 boxes, 1 sofa, 1 big table that needed to be handled with care, a few small pieces of furniture, LCD TV, and a bed. Why I picked A Moveable Feat... Flat Rate said $740, a friend liked Sarmiento but warned to pack stuff really well, City Express sounded fine but one friend said his sofa came out dusty, and I saw some online posts about Rabbit Movers. My friend who talked about A Moveable Feat said she got a price of about $570 and had more stuff than me. They took apart her furniture and put it together again too. I got a quote of $540 (5% off if paid in cash). Super simple to get a quote from their website, and I also got the insurance paper for my building easy. On moving day they showed up 30 min early and the lead guy was very nice / polite and knew what he was doing. The whole team was nice and polite too. They took time to check each thing and wrap it up right. The table was covered with moving blankets and handled good. I took the bus to the new place and while I was going, they called to ask about a few items I forgot in the closet. That was really helpfull. Unloading was smooth too. They asked where to put each box. At the end, I got to look inside the truck to make sure all my stuff was there. Would defintely use them again if I move.
