Pay a little more and use another service

Used After to handle the cremation of my sister who passed on 7/11/24. Fri - called After and the first person who talked to me told me her siblings had to all sign stuff to cremate her. I spent hours contacting all sibs (5), but then thought " wait a minute, she has an adult son, isn't he her next of kin?". Called back, she said oh yes, that's true, he is. The completed item was back that day. Mon - tried calling to see about the next steps and no answer. had to call the main number and she either quit or was fired. Spoke to new guy, he was still waiting for documents from the hospital. I called him later in the week, he still didn't have them. Fortunately when I called the hospital it got handled. My sister had already been deceased for a week at this point. I waited until the very end of July to call and find out when she would be cremated and was told it would be at the beginning of August. Every single time I tried to contact the person handling her arrangements he would not answer his phone or respond to emails. But if I called the main number and said I couldn't get him, he would miraculously appear on the line!!?? Always dripping with apologies, blah, blah, blah. Then come to find out when they received her death certificate, her last name was spelled wrong!! They never verified it with the family, or request any type of ID, nothing. The DR signed a death verification with an incorrect last name and they filed for a DC without verifying her last name. A phone call or email to me was too much to ask!?? 2 weeks ago I sent them her expired state ID, which is all she had because her said he would attempt to fix it. She was finally cremated last week. He just now sent an email stating the ID would PROBABLY not be sufficient to fix the DC. He never even attempted to correct it!!! So much incompetence and BS. Spend a few more $$ s and use someone else where their processes are correct and their people better trained. Just awful.

The team was very supportive, and I believe they gave me their top coordinator. I am really satisfied with their service. In fact, I'm now planning my own cremation with After.

My spouse passed away at home with the help of hospice and me (a retired nurse). About 30 minutes after his death, the hospice nurse confirmed it, and within the next hour, the transportation arrived to take him away. The service was very respectful and professional.

I was feeling overwhelmed, and the nurses led me to a quiet spot in the hall. The Hospitalist came over to check on me and asked if I had a plan. I felt a sense of calm as I handed him my husband’s After.com card. Their team guided me kindly through everything, from taking care of my husband to organizing a lovely memorial, handling legal things, and offering support for my grief. Very caring and patient people. Their fees are quite fair, and I am really gratefull to have found After.com.

She was Friendly, Professional, and Just Amazing. My partner had asked me only 4 days before he passed away to marry him. Amanda helped make this hard time feel more manageable. The only good part of losing James was having Amanda there to support me. She explained the process clearly and answered all my questions. When Jim's ashes arrived, the driver was nice and thoughtful. I’m really pleased this company was recommended to me, and I'm sharing my recommendation with you.

Couldn't Have Asked For Better Service & Compassion

After doing a little bit of research & meeting with the funeral team where the Coroner put my mom, my dad & I chose After.com for SO MANY reasons. The cremation price was the lowest price in town, we signed the papers & my mom was transported that day & we received the call the following week that mom could be picked up. Bella was in constant contact with me thru every step of the progress. She was very courteous & sympathetic. Once mom was picked up & brought home, I called & got the link to post an obituary & it was approved to be posted right away. Special thanks to Bella & the rest of the team at After.com. We totally appreciate you all!!

After.com was great to deal with after my mother passed away. They had a payment plan that was easy to use and affordable, which Mom could use to cover most of the cost. Kaytlin Costa, our contact, was caring about our situation, replied to all my questions fast, and helped arrange the new payment and delivery contract the day after Mom passed. The certificates and urn came very fast, all within 2 weeks. I hope I won’t need their help again for a long time, but After.com has my full recomendation as a funeral service to choose.

You put in effort, but sometimes things just don’t match up with the options given. I explained my case. My email provider went out of business, so my old email on the account is outdated. Somehow, I managed to set up a new account with the right email. I believe both accounts are being charged. But my 365 isn't functioning, and the fix isn’t helping. Unfortunately, this didn’t seem to match any of your menus, so I had to try a different approach.
