My experience with It's Just Lunch was, unfortunately, not as positive as I had hoped for. I signed up for the 12 matches package, with the bonus of two extra matches, giving me a total of 14 opportunities to meet potential partners. Regrettably, this journey was far from the exciting dating adventure I had anticipated.
It appeared that It's Just Lunch struggled to find suitable candidates, resulting in some questionable selections. During one particularly memorable date, my companion openly asked if I had connections to a doctor who could prescribe pain medication. His financial situation was equally disconcerting, with him arriving at the restaurant via bus and struggling to pay for his meal - a situation that made for a rather uncomfortable evening.
Another date left me equally frustrated; he couldn't wait to leave, appeared to be well outside my preferred age range, and failed to share any common interests with me.
The overarching issue I encountered was the lack of due diligence in vetting these matches. Many of them misrepresented themselves, claiming one profession while actually working in a completely different field. Similarly, a match who was supposed to be employed in the medical field was, in fact, unemployed.
While there were a few exceptions - men who were employed and had genuinely engaging personalities - they were the minority in my series of dates. It's worth noting that some of the matches even lived with their parents. There's nothing inherently wrong with this, but I would have appreciated knowing this information in advance to better understand their life situations.
My overall impression of It's Just Lunch was that they struggled to provide the level of service they had advertised. While the service may work for some, it did not align with my expectations, and my experience was far from what I had hoped for in a professional matchmaking service.
